In its short history, WACAM has made various achievements. Among these are:
¬ Petitioned government and Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate human rights violations in the mining communities
¬ Provide legal services and support to mining communities in collaboration with Centre for Public Interest Law (CEPIL) and Third World Network - Africa Secretariat
¬ Represented and negotiated an enhanced package on resettlement and relocation issues involving some displaced communities
¬ Sensitization programs for six zones on mining communities on community rights
¬ Carried out Fact Finding Mission (FFM) with FIAN International on human rights and environmental issues relating to surface mining
¬ Collaborated with Third World Network Africa in research document Boom and Dislocation by Thomas Akabzaa
¬ Collaborating with other civil society organizations on mining law reform campaign in Ghana
¬ Educational support to children in affected communities
